CUSHOTHANE® EZ™

  • The Perfect Choice for 80% of Tire Applications - Softer compound to minimize machine and operator fatigue balanced with more-than-enough load capacity & abrasion resistance to effortlessly meet general usage applications.
  • Superior traction in all conditions - unmatched grip in wet and cold conditions.
  • Excellent energy savings - very low rolling resistance minimizes battery drainage - especially in cold storage applications.
  • Higher chunk resistance & quickest flat-spot run-out - especially in low temperatures due to its extremely unique chemistry.

The Cushothane® EZ™ polyurethane press-on, mold-on and press-fit tires for indoor forklifts and pallet jacks is one of the most universal compunds for material handling equipment. 80% of equipment falls into the "general use" application with no special tire requirements such as heavy loading or continuous long runs. A slightly softer compound for added comfort and long wear-life that's more affordable than specialized compounds is all that's needed in most cases. The Cushothane® EZ™ is the go-to general use compound.

It also offers the excellent traction in cold or wet floors, providing grip even on slippery floors. Cushothane® EZ™ holds its softness and flexibility beyond the normal cold storage/freezer temperature range. The competitor’s compounds are harder with different chemistry and quickly become more brittle in normal cold storage/freezer temperatures, causing a rough ride, loss of traction, and chunking. We engineered the Cushothane® EZ™ to maintain high cut & tear resistance at low temperatures.

Consistently Soft with High Chunk Resistance:

  • Cushothane®EZ™ holds it’s softness and flexibility beyond normal cold storage/freezer temperature range.
  • The competitor’s harder compound and different chemistry quickly becomes harder and more brittle in normal cold storage/freezer temperatures, causing a harder ride, loss of traction and chunking.

  • Cushothane® EZ™ is a high performance MDI Ester, which has very high cut & tear resistance. Many competitors use a common TDE Ether with modified cure times to achieve a softer compound but sacrifice cut & tear properties.
  • Moreover, the Cushothane® EZ™ was engineered to maintain high cut & tear resistance at low temperatures.

Assembly Options:

Mold-On

Cushothane® EZ™ compound is molded directly to the mountable hub, providing the quickest and easiest way to install. Hub cannot be reused once the tire wears out.

Press-Fit

Cushothane® EZ™ is molded to a press-on rim, which is then factory pressed onto a hub and sold as a single piece. This option has the benefit of quick and easy installation and allows for the hub to be reused when the tire wears out.

Tire Profile and Tread Style Options:

Smooth Crown (SC)

Pros - Best maneuverability and easiest steering

Cons - Lower stability and carrying capacity

Tapered Side Wall (TSW)

Pros - Best carrying capacity, with excellent stability, manuverability, and steering ease

Cons - No known limitations

Straight Side Wall (SSW)

Pros - Highest traction & stability from more ground contact. Typically used in Ultra-Large OD tires.

Cons - Reduced maneuverability and load capacity

Smooth Flat (SF)

Pros - Reinforcement band protects against undercutting caused from uneven loading or overloading

Cons - Slightly lower traction and stability

Tapered Side Wall (TSW)

Pros - Best carrying capacity, with excellent stability, manuverability, and steering ease

Cons - No known limitations

Center Groove (CG)

Allows for heat dissapation, reducing risk of meltdown in long runs applications.

Also available in double center-groove (2CG) & triple center-groove (3CG)

X-Groove (XG)

Reduces hydroplaning in standing water and improves traction on wet floors.

Also available in double X-Groove (2XG)

X-Groove with Center Groove (XG With CG)

Reduces hydroplaning, side slippage, and improves traction on wet floors.

Suitable for medium to high standing water.

Diagonal Groove (DG)

Highest water dissapation, the most effective for wet floor conditions.

Suitable for high standing water. Provides smoother ride than X-Groove.

Siped

Ultra-fine diagonal cuts in the tread surface - best option for damp or icy floor conditions.

Can be combined with other grooving options.

DISCLAIMER: All "Tread Styles" that involve the cutting or the removal of surface material will weaken the tire and increase the likelihood of "chunking". Superior Tire & Rubber Corp. recommends avoiding the use of these types of tread styles unless to solve a specific problem in your application.

Site proven, Customer Preferred

“When an end-user has an application where they want a soft ride, need traction, and have had problems with tires chunking off, I always endorse Superior Tire & Rubber Corp’s Cushothane® EZ™ compound as the best tool for the job. I've even promoted it’s ability to other dealers.”

-Richard Ceccacci, VP - Ceccacci Lift Truck Service

“Recently, a competitor’s tire was flat spotting for us and offered very short and unsatisfactory work life. Superior Tire & Rubber Corp’s Cushothane® EZ™ Smooth Crown tire, siped for traction, eliminated the flat-spotting, giving us truly the longest ride and greatest value.
