Modeling

    Superior offers in-house linear and non-linear elastomer modeling and testing capability. Using Cosmos FEA software, Superior can provide linear, non- linear mechanical and thermal analysis of your product. In addition, Superior's years of experience in cast polyurethane molding and rubber molding, coupled with years of fabrication and machining experience, can reduce your design cycle

Mold Making

    When dealing with Superior, you deal with only one supplier. This includes the design, the mold manufacturing, the prototype testing to the full-scale production. Superior minimizes tooling lead-time as we manufacture the entirety of our molds using a complete networked CNC machine shop that is staffed by experts. The 3-D solid modeling capability of Virtual Gibbs software allows Superior to be sure that the mold is correct before cutting metal.

Elastomer Performance Data

    This is the extensive elastomer inventory of physical property data, dynamic test results and chemical resistivity data.

People

    Superior's technical staff has a broad range of experience in industrial tires and wheels, automotive plastics, custom rubber molding, and polyurethane casting. Superior employees participate in the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA), Asphalt Reclaiming and Recycling Association (ARRA), Associated Equipment Dealers (AED), Demolition Contractors Association (DCA), American Association of Airline Executives (AAAE), Industrial Truck Association (ITA) and the North American Warehousing and Grocers Association (NAWGA). Superior uses continuing education programs through the Society of Automotive Engineers and the American Chemical Society.

Engineering Tools

    Superior offers its customers an extensive engineering library with detailed static and dynamic performance data on MDI,TDI, and PPDI polyurethane, SBR, natural rubber and custom rubber formulations. A thorough knowledge of a customer's product performance requirements allows Superior to choose appropriate elastomer solution. Superior's in-house Finite Element Analysis (Cosmos linear, non-linear, mechanical and thermal) capabilities allow us to model a customer's part's performance before the investment in prototype fabrication.

    Custom tire and wheel design software validated by 20 years of dynamometer data allows the Superior technical staff to make recommendations based on science and engineering facts.

    Molds and prototypes are produced on schedule in an extensive CNC equipped, in-house machine shop. Superior's Virtual Gibbs 3-D solid modeling machining software allows our engineers and machinists to see the mold before we cut steel.

Quality Practices

    Superior plant management and the quality staff have participated in training in extensive training in lean and six sigma practices. The SPC and the SQC are standard operating procedures in our manufacturing processes. Quality control personnel and key production operators have attended Qualpro Statistical Quality Improvement Techniques for Manufacturing Processes seminars.

    Superiors processes are designed to be ISO compliant. Superior can provide customers with SPC data on raw material qualification testing as well as process parameters. Our gage calibration program is to national standard as is our CMM certification. Our material qualification is to ASTM test protocols. As a defense supplier for over 20 years, Superior has developed an extensive library of government specifications.

Manufacturing Technology

    Proprietary polyurethane mixing technology and precise processing control ensure that Superior products perform to their material design limits - every time. Superior machining capabilities us state of the art CNCs with an average age of under 5 years. Superior’s molding technology is a combination of best in class purchased equipment and custom designed equipment. Extensive model making in cast urethane and compression and transfer molding ensures that your product is manufactured economically. Superior offers elastomer to metal bonding for steel and aluminum applications. For components that require post molding drilling, machining or assembly, Superior offers value added manufacturing services at extremely competitive prices.
