Polar Edge LogoUrethane Cutting Edges - Polar Edge snowplow cutting edges set the highest standards in performance with unparalleled flexibility, lessening the impact damage to surfaces and equipment.  Superior’s blades reduce vibrations that cause driver fatigue and are airport proven to outlast rubber by up to 10 times!

Urethane                              Rubber

Why are Polar Edge Urethane snowplow cutting edges Superior?

  • Superior’s urethane is the right material for the snow plowing application. It has been specially formulated to withstand the rigors of plowing with added abrasion resistance, and a brittle point of -35º.
  • Edges can be purchased in most lengths, widths and thicknesses.
  • Work life can be doubled by choosing wider widths to provide the opportunity to drop the edge and then flip it as it wears.
  • An optional beveled edge provides less chatter during break in.
  • Unequaled customer support!

General Urethane Edge Recommendations

  • The edge should extend beyond the mold board at a distance equal to or slightly larger than the thickness of the edge.
  • Plowing at speeds in excess of 30 mph will reduce the life of the edge.
  • A ¼” x 4” steel plate should be used over the edge. Do not tighten this plate to the point that it compresses the edge as this will cause stress points and could reduce the wear life of the edge.
  • Do not use on equipment such as bulldozers or graders unless you have experience in this application.
  • If the leading edge is not factory beveled, back drag the blade approximately two hundred feet. This eliminates chatter on start up.
  • Recommended Storage: Mounted Blades - suspend blades so there is no weight on edge, cover with nontransparent plastic. Do not paint the blades, solvents can degrade the material. Stored Blades - Stack as lumber, cover with nontransparent plastic.
  • Do not wash blades with solvents such as MEK, lacquer thinner, toluene or gasoline.
  • Do not burn worn out blades but cut them into pieces and dispose of them using local guidelines.

Urethane Polyurethane Spinners for Material Spreaders

Standard SpinnerPolar Edge spreader box spinners provide impact damage resistance that cannot be equaled by steel, plastic, rubber or other urethane versions.  Superior’s spinners will not bend or break and are site and OEM-proven to withstand impact in the most severe weather conditions.  Polar Edge® premium urethane spinners are formulated specifically for winter wear applications and withstand temperatures as low as 35° below zero while remaining flexible and abrasion resistant.  These spinners will never rust or corrode and the low-trajectory fin design offer safer, more even spreading.  Polyurethane will also eliminate materials such as salt and sand from building up on the spinner surface.

The economics are simple.  Other spinners will require replacement more often than Polar Edge®.  Increased spinner life means lower maintenance costs, better productivity and higher profits!
